[jira] [Created] (INFRA-10827) GitHub integration for Gitter
Raúl Kripalani created INFRA-10827:
--------------------------------------
Summary: GitHub integration for Gitter
Key: INFRA-10827
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/INFRA-10827
Project: Infrastructure
Issue Type: Bug
Components: Git
Reporter: Raúl Kripalani
Hello,
At the Apache Ignite project we would like to evaluate https://gitter.im as a chatroom solution. Gitter only charges for private rooms > 25 members. Since our chatrooms will be public, the service is free at the current time.
Gitter works in integration with GitHub only. One can create two types of chatrooms:
* custom
* repository-based
If I create a custom chatroom, it ends up having a name like raulk/apache-ignite, which is not desirable. However, if you enable this integration, we'd be able to create a public chatroom associated with the apache/ignite repo.
