We have been working on porting IndexSorter to trunk API as well as added some more features to it. 
The IndexSorter sorts documents in the index according to Id's, DocValues or Payloads, each of these is a diffrent implementation 
of the Sorter interface. In addition we provide a way to correctly access and iterate over documents in a sorted index 
such as SortingIndexReader, SortingFields, SortingTerms etc'.
