[users@httpd] broken package

Hi

I have problem with broken postgresql package.
I've accidentally deleted some postgresql files and now I can't reinstal or remove it.
Also after every instalation i get:

Setting up postgresql-client-7.4 (7.4.23-0etch1) ...
/var/lib/dpkg/info/postgresql-client-7.4.postinst: line 5: /usr/share/postgresql-common/maintscripts-functions: No such file or directory
dpkg: error processing postgresql-client-7.4 (--configure):
subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1
dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of postgresql-7.4:
 postgresql-7.4 depends on postgresql-client-7.4; however:
Package postgresql-client-7.4 is not configured yet.
dpkg: error processing postgresql-7.4 (--configure):
 dependency problems - leaving unconfigured
Errors were encountered while processing:
 postgresql-client-7.4
 postgresql-7.4
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

Any advices??
Thanks for replying

Yes, and maybe you want to ask for help on the appropriate postgresql or Linux
forum, instead of this one, which is dedicated to Apache ?
