question about using XML Property Files

Hi
I am just trying out the DOMConfigurator class so as to be able to use an
XML property file. My code compiles, but when I run it I get the following
error:
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError:
org/w3c/dom/Node.
Am I missing something from my classpath? I'm new to XML, so forgive me if
this is a dumb question.

Many thanks
Lyndsey

Hi,
This is a related problem I've had, but not an answer to your
question unfortunately...

When I first tried DOMConfigurator, stuff would
compile but I got a runtime java.lang.LinkageError for one of the
SAX clases. Huh?

So downloaded the latest Xerces (1.4.3). LinkageError gone,
everything fine. For kicks, tried making log4j work with jaxp.jar
instead of Xerces -- no luck.

I need weblogic.jar in my webapp as well, mostly for the
weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContext crap. Guess what? Weblogic has its
own version xerces bundled in weblogic.jar (which I think is
not the wisest thing to do), and log4j doesn't like that version.

I use Tomcat 4.0.1, which cannot guarantee the order in which jars
in WEB-INF/lib are loaded, so I had to dump DOMConfigurator and use
PropertiesConfigurator instead. Not a big deal, but a shame.

Anyone have any ideas?

Yoav
