   I am not very familiar with how connect is implemented. But my expectation would be that based on the changes that it should work. But just to confirm I pushed new test cases in  `UserDefinedFunctionE2ETestSuite` to actually confirm that it works. (And based on testing it locally those tests failed before this patch and passes with it).
