Sling 8 Release?

Hi all,

Quick question: Is there a plan when Sling 8 [1] will be released?

Hi Olaf,

We typically aim to release a version of the Sling Launchpad once per
year. Sling 7 was released in October 2014, so 'this year' is a good
goal for Sling 8.

May I ask though why you need a Sling 8 release?
