[OFFTOPIC] correct behaviour when OutOfMemoryError

Hi there,

This is a bit of a general question, rather than specifically about tomcat.

Does anyone "know"/have an opinion what a servlet containers response ought
to be when it gets an OutOfMemoryError from a servlet request.

My thoughts were the only real option is for the whole engine to die.
Otherwise the server keeps running in an "unknown" state which could cause
all sorts of havoc. But this does seem kinda catastophic.... :-)
