hm... using gdb to trace the running processes I got this results from 3
different childs, 2 different machines:

0x4014c9b4 in read () from /lib/libc.so.6

0x4015444e in select () from /lib/libc.so.6

Loaded symbols for /lib/libnss_dns.so.2
0x4011e580 in chunk_free (ar_ptr=0x401d2300, p=0x82f9760) at malloc.c:3252
3252    malloc.c: No such file or directory.
        in malloc.c
