SSI or how to let apache serve heavy stuff

Hello World!

I got the following small problem:

I'd like to include JSP-Pages in HTML-Pages
with SSI for Apache.

The reason is, that I'd like Apache to serve
all the heavyweight components of a page=20
(mostly images), because it's faster than=20
having Tomcat to serve them.

I tried the following (in a HTML-document):

<!--include file ../jbin/test.jsp-->

But this, unfortunately doesn't work.

Have you got any idea how to solve this problem?
Or is there an other way to let Apache serve=20
pictures?
