Re: [ANN] OpenQabal - Open Source Social Networking & Collaboration Platform

Hi Phillip,

I am curious about you reasons for choosing javaBB over JForum. From my
research it seems that the latter may be easier to integrate into a CAS or
Single Sign on solution.

I agree with Dave - I don't consider this spam either.

Ok Dave, glad to hear that. :-)

I'm not aware of a Twitter plugin for Roller. What would you like such
a plugin to do?

Twitter plugin/add-on for rollerweblogger

Hello:
Please forgive me if I have overlooked existence of same.
If not, warnings on things you prefer that I not do would be welcome.
As would your views on what you believe I should do and might overlook.
Not of course a java newbie. Been around roller a while too.
Way past time to contribute something.
This is a good fit with other plans.

I don't consider this spam at all. I'm very interested in hearing how
others are integrating Roller with other social software systems, SSO,
etc. So please keep us posted on your Roller "distro"

I wish I could say that the decision was based on some really
sophisticated analysis, or some extraordinarily deep insight
on my part. But actually the truth is simply that I found
JavaBB first, it looked like a good fit for what I was trying to
do, so I started working with it. I discovered JForum later, but
was already far enough down the path of working with JavaBB that
I didn't feel compelled to switch.

Quite possibly so. But I now have a version of JavaBB that's hacked up
to use Acegi, which makes it fairly easy to incorporate into SSO
using CAS. What I don't know yet is if the JavaBB guys will be
willing to merge that stuff upstream. I'll propose it to them
and hope for the best. If not, I may eventually switch away
from JavaBB as the default forums component. Time will tell. :-)

TTYL,

Phil

P.S. - I don't want to be accused of spamming the dev@roller list
with my stuff, so if anybody wants to get deeply into discussion
OQ, please consider joining the OQ list(s). The last thing I
want is to upset any of the Roller devs by posting a lot of OT
stuff on their list. :-)
