Error getting full update
Dear All,
We're currently using myversioncontrol to host our subversion projects.
They're currently on version 1.6.6 of svn. They've been helpful in trying
to resolve the issue. Unfortunately we're now getting it on an almost daily
basis. The client is Tortoise, mostly version 1.6.6 and has been happening
irregularly over the course of the past year.
We've had more than a few issues where one of our developers has done an
update on the root of a project and not got all of the updated files. A
specific example of this happened this morning.
A developer took a full update at the head revision from the root of a
project. Following a full update we'd expect the project to run correctly.
On running the project he noticed that some of the JavaScript hadn't been
updated. On examining his local c:/svn/projname/Web/jQuery/ folder he could
see that he had an old set of files. On going to the repository browser he
could see that the updated files were indeed in svn.
Right clicking on projname/Web/jQuery/ in the repository browser and
updating to the head revision brought down the expected files. Previously to
that doing a full update brought down no files. No check ins on the
repository were done between these two points. As a side note "update to
head revision" was not available for those files and directories that were
upto date. So it's almost as if some parts of Tortoise are aware that the
project is not fully upto date.
The same issue has happened with other developers on other projects. We've
also had a similar issue where an entirely new checkout has not brought down
the latest version of all files.
Regards Giles.

Thanks. Sounds likely. I'll pass this around and see if we get any more
issues like this.
