have you ever try for these code
document.addEventListener("backbutton", onBackKeyDown, false)
function onBackKeyDown()
{
var confirm_buttonIndex = window.confirm('test');
}
it will trigger and show the message window,but after 9-12 second,the app will Terminated unexpectedly
