state of the art

Hi,

The current CVS tree is ''clean'' and functional.
Due to conflicts, Vincent sent me yesterday some classes
to add carefully to the CVS tree. I have started the
merge (by hand) in order to *not* have regressions.

I will continue that work tomorrow.

*** ChangeLog ***

- Bug fix with opacity.svg (by thomas and vincent)

- update the SVGOMDocument to support gradients later

- bug fix with font-size. The problem was that we consider
"font-family:12" as pt instead of pixel. We now have the
correct size (the text in the BE tests does not overflow
anymore). If you think the text is still ugly in our
  examples - you should use font-size: 12pt :)
  The result is much better.

*** Features missing for the first release ***

- Linking (should be available monday)
- Gradients (should be put in place tomorrow)
  linear works properly
radial needs some additional work but should be ok.
- external use (stephane and I will work on it)
- image as svg document (stephane and I will work on it)
- tspan (I can do a first implementation to let Bill continue
his stuffs - it means that tspan should work except white
  space handling).

Bonus:

- we could try to fix objectBoundingBox and userSpaceOnUse
  on clip and mask

*** Things missing to have a complete static viewer ***

- marker
- pattern
- filters (May be new ones could be available on the first release)
- May be more ???

---

Please keep in mind that the current version is cool. If
we later need to extract this version for regression purpose.
use : cvs checkout -D 2000/10/28 xml-batik

That's all for today.
Regards,
Thierry.
