REMINDER: GSOC Demo Day for Mifos & Apache Fineract on Sept 7 at
1200GMT via GoToTraining
Hello everyone,
Google Summer of Code has just come to a close and our interns across both
the Mifos Initiative and Apache Fineract would like to showcase their
remaining work. You'll get see demos for the first time for some of the
projects and for projects that were showcases, earlier, the final
enhancements that have been made.

We always do as such in uploading a screencast afterwards. I hadn't had a
chance to share the links from last meeting but am going to shortly. Please
see the email below from our previous demo day. Since you can share the
exact time in which to start the video that also takes care of the need to
have separate screencasts.The time we do that meetings at 5am locally
(definitely is not ideal for me) but it's possible for us to hit as many
time zones as possible.

This is a problem for me too. I'm a part-time employee, and these
meetings are often at times that I cannot participate. Since I don't
actually have anything to add, I haven't complained, but this could be
done in a way that I can more easily consume.
These two things would make my life easier:
1.) provide screencasts via YouTube, and
2.) do one screencast per GSoC project rather than one per meeting.
This would make it easier for me to pick up the information
asynchronously, and pick and choose the information which is actually
interesting to me.
I'm guessing it would also make the information more consumable for
those with unreliable connections, since then with a bit of planning
they could use buffering to watch an entire screencast at once.
This might be good on the model of Apache feathercast
(https://feathercast.apache.org/)
In fact, I bet if there's any content we could transmit with just
voice, we could get it added to feathercast and thus broaden its
audience.
