[jira] [Updated] (HIVE-23492) Remove unnecessary FileSystem#exists
calls from ql module
Steve Loughran updated HIVE-23492:
----------------------------------
Description: Wherever there is an exists() call before open() or delete(), remove it and infer from the FileNotFoundException raised in open/delete that the file does not exist. Exists() just checks for a FileNotFoundException so it's a waste of time, especially on higher-latency stores (was: Wherever there is an exists() call before open() or delete(), remove it and infer from the FileNotFoundException raised in open/delete that the file does not exist. Exists() just checks for a FileNotFoundException so it's a waste of time, especially on clunkier FSes)
