[jira] [Created] (QPID-6223) [Java Broker] Change the default number of housekeeping threads created to something sensible

Rob Godfrey created QPID-6223:
---------------------------------

Summary: [Java Broker] Change the default number of housekeeping threads created to something sensible
                 Key: QPID-6223
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/QPID-6223
             Project: Qpid
          Issue Type: Improvement
          Components: Java Broker
            Reporter: Rob Godfrey
            Priority: Minor
             Fix For: 0.31

Currently the default number of housekeeping threads created per virtual host is the number of cores on the machine. For installations with a large number of cores and a large number of virtual hosts this leads to the creation of a vast number of unnecessary threads. Only two tasks are currently sent to housekeeping threads, each at 30s intervals. A single thread per virtual host would be sufficient
