Michael Yannakopoulos commented on COMDEV-58:
---------------------------------------------

Hello there,

I'm quite interested in this subject, but i have no idea about these tools (Hadoop, Thrift & Google Protobuf)... I'm studying in the Aristotle University of ThessalonĂki (Greece) at the department of Informatics. I'm in the third year of my studies and my program is quite tense but i can spend some time on this. I know C++ and Java and at this quarter i get involved in the apache commons math project, but my lack of experience holds me back... I would like some general directions on this one so as to practice specific skills needed for this issue so as to handle with it efficiently. If you 're interested please let me know! Thanks for your time reading this!

> The goal of this project is performance evaluation of RPC frameworks (e.g., Hadoop RPC, Thrift, Google Protobuf, ..., etc) to figure out which is the best solution for Hama BSP communication. Currently Hama is using Hadoop RPC to communicate and transfer messages between BSP workers.
