PLEASE do... and we would likely copy the original author with your revisions.
We really do want more than one set of eyeballs on the translations... my earlier
comment on one of our translations was the number of chuckles it raised from the
native speakers. IMHO, translations to one of the author's primary languages are
always better than second languages. We want to incorporate as many translations
as possible, but it's not productive to apply our two-year second-langauge skills
to the effort :-)

ISO. The underlying issue is cross-platform compatibility. Windows proprietary
encodings don't accomplish that key goal.

Hi,

I have two questions:
1. The page index.html.he.iso-8859-8 is full with mistakes. Can I rewrite
it?
2. There is two Charsets to Hebrew:
    A. ISO - Meaning Revrese Letter - Harder to do, but all OS read it.
    B. Windows 1255 - Better, but i'm not sure it's good for linux....
What do you recommend?

After the polish translation, I couldn't agree more :-)

That's why I suggest it goes to the list.

As was mentioned offline to me to-day, each language variant
(including 8859-1 :-) *should* have at least two independent
sets of eyeballs for vetting..

See the appropriate index.html.he.iso-8859-8 'it worked!' page, choose a doc
(the manual/index.html page is always good to start with) - then send it to
this list in ContentType=text/plain;Charset=iso-8859-8 and we would be very,
very happy to review and incorporate.

Remember on your links that even if you create configuring.html.he.iso-8859-8
your links to that document remain HREF="configuring.html", the user might
be jumping between languages they best understand, so although they found the
Hebrew version of one page and basically grokked it, if they find there is a
french translation (perhaps their native language) of the next page, they will
want that version of that next document. The user controls it by their own
language preferences, and we negotiate it all with multiviews.
