FYI : a new library for accessing couchdb through PHP, which i'm willing to upgrade, maintain and bugfix.

Hi all.

I've made a new small PHP library up at
https://github.com/nicerapp/php-couchdb , which aims to provide simple yet
robust access to couchdb from PHP.

I'm open to feature requests, bugfix support, etc.

Enjoy :)

Oh, you'll have to run and examine unitTest.php to get started.

I think the list you're referring to is here:

I tried to signup but got really confused by the following steps that
started talking about Jira and whatever...

If you could update the link for SAG to our fork (and maybe put it
higher in the list since I think this is the only library actively
maintained) that would be super cool.

FYI : i had to upgrade https://github.com/skeyby/sag just a little bit,
adding the following to src/Sag.php :

  public function setAdmins($data) {
    return $this->procPacket ('PUT', '/'.$this->db.'/_security', $data);
  }

this is intended to be used as such :

$cdb = new Sag($cdbConfig['domain'], $cdbConfig['port']);
$cdb->setHTTPAdapter($cdbConfig['httpAdapter']);
$cdb->useSSL($cdbConfig['useSSL']);
$cdb->login($cdbConfig['adminUsername'], $cdbConfig['adminPassword']);
$cdb->setDatabase($cms->domain.'___analytics',true);
$json = '{ "admins": { "names": [], "roles": ["guests"] }, "members": {
"names": ["Administrator"], "roles": ["guests"] } }';
try {
    $call = $cdb->setAdmins ($json);
} catch (Exception $e) {
    echo '<pre style="color:red">'; var_dump ($e); echo '</pre>'; die();
}
echo 'Created database '.$cms->domain.'___analytics<br/>';

Hi Jonathan, thank you very much. The details of the powershell module I write them below:

The module is called PSCouchDB, it is a module that creates a quick interface to a CouchDB server (local or remote). The module provides various commands (cmdlets) and aliases to manage all CouchDB APIs.
The module is compatible with both Windows, Mac OS X and Linux (I've been using fedora myself for 15 years). Just install powershell.

Here website, documentation and github Readme:

https://matteoguadrini.github.io/PSCouchDB/

https://pscouchdb.readthedocs.io/en/latest/

https://github.com/MatteoGuadrini/PSCouchDB

Thanks again

Can you sign up for a wiki account there? I'm not sure how access is
controlled. If not, or if it's too long/boring for you to bother, send
me the details and I can add it. :)

hey, is https://github.com/skeyby/sag gonna get listed on an easy to find
couchdb documentation page any time soon?

Hi, in my opinion it's a good idea but I agree with Andrea. Maybe you can combine the features of both.

Anyway I think I try both ... until now I have used my powershell module (https://github.com/MatteoGuadrini/PSCouchDB) for anything related to CouchDB. Even from a PHP page!

@Jonathan: How do I get my powershell module into that list?

Thank you all
Greetings

The "old" SAG was.

The "new" now (our fork) probably isn't as I would know what you mean by
"couchdb introduction or help pages".

https://couchdb.apache.org/ used to have a page for client libraries,
but I don't seem to find it anymore...

Hi Andrea..

i wasn't aware of the existence of SAG when i wrote
github.com/nicerapp/php-couchdb.

i can and will change my business-logic code to be using SAG, and i am also
willing to become a contributor for it, when a situation calls for that of
course.

is SAG listed on the couchdb introduction or help pages already?

Hello Rene,

really interesting, I'll take a look at it later.

In the meantime, please, take a look to our fork of the old-but-gold SAG
we kept improving:

https://github.com/skeyby/sag

fragmentation is never a good idea so maybe we could merge forces.

Have a good day.
