   @sciclon2 To get permissions, you need to follow the steps in [Getting Started](https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/KAFKA/Kafka+Improvement+Proposals#KafkaImprovementProposals-GettingStarted):
   ```
   4. Send an email to the dev mailing list ([dev@kafka.apache.org](mailto:dev@kafka.apache.org)) containing your wiki ID and Jira ID requesting permissions to contribute to Apache Kafka.
   ```
   
   If you give me your JIRA ID, I can add you. Also you need to open a PR against the branch named `trunk`, your other PR was correct.
