The main reason to do this is to simplify attributes and relationships presentation and mapping. To make them more user-friendly. 

One improvement may be a path mapping via autosuggestion fields.

Has been done by https://github.com/apache/cayenne/pull/77 and https://github.com/apache/cayenne/pull/79
