when a listItem in a comboBox is selected, the DOM does not update to reflect what is selected on the screen.
Run the comboBox widget component test and select different list items and check the DOM with the print element button.

Numerous changes to get value/text write-back to the UI document right. Basically, getting
the "onChange" broadcasting right:
list option item --> listbox [--> combobox] .
This is imposed by dojo event connection from above, so (as a consequence)
listboxes don't have to know much about any combobox[es]' owning them.
TODO: Warning: some bits of the older, kludged, way of doing this might still be
around. They should be removed once we can afford to break this again.
