ENTRY_ALREADY_EXISTS issue

When we try to add missing entries on ldap, it is giving following error:

: ERR_250_ENTRY_ALREADY_EXISTS uid=abc.xyz@abcxyz.com,ou=people,o=org already exists!]; remaining name 'uid=abc.xyz@abcxyz.com,ou=people,o=org' 

But we could not get the entry when we search through studio either in groups or in people.

Is there a way to add such kind of entries in ldap?

Ok. That means the underlying database is broken. As of today, there is
no other way than re-importing the full data in the server.

We are using ApacheDS 2.0.0-M20. I tried full search. That one also could not find the entry. But when we try to add it says ENTRY_ALREADY_EXISTS.

If it fails, that means the entry exists. Have you tried a full search
from the root ?

Also which LDAP server are you using ?
