Testing progress and cloning of test specifications in Synergy

Hi people,

it's great to see that Jannie Van Niekerk and Geertjan started to
test Apache NetBeans 11.0 yesterday and got the progress from 0% to 1.4%
in one day. However, if it would be just them two, it would take 10 more
weeks i.e. end of April to get to 100%. I have returned from my family
skiing vacation and I am downloading the IDE as we speak to start
testing Java EE debugging features I was assigned to.

In other words, may I suggest that also we others join Jannie and
Geertjan rather sooner than later? :)

BTW, I have updated all tribes i.e. added members according to
individual preferences on the participants page but we are desperately
looking for tribe leaders. If you volunteer to lead some tribe, let me
or Geertjan please know and you will make the world a slightly better
place immediately! :)

Thanks for your support and happy testing!

Have a great week,
-Jirka

Hi Walter,

thanks a lot for your offer! You are now leading Java Editor tribe
effective immediately. The responsibilities of tribe leaders are
described in this FAQ:

https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/NETBEANS/NetCAT+FAQ#NetCATFAQ-IfIbecomeNetCATtribeleader,whatwillmytasksbe?

Basically all what is expected from you is a little bit of coordination
of testing within your tribe i.e. try to distribute the work load,
monitor the progress and motivate (remind :) others to complete it on time.

As for editing test specifications, all tribe members can edit/clone
test specifications belonging to their tribes.

Hope this helps,
-Jirka

I'm new to this, but it doesn't seem hard to work through a test spec. Wouldn't mind having more assigned to me and also happy to be a tribe leader (what is involved in that, what would I need to do)?
I'll work through my test spec today -- do I have rights to edit the test spec assigned to me if I see things that are incorrect?
Thanks,
Walt
