[jira] [Commented] (MAPREDUCE-5403) Get rid of yarn.application.classpath

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/MAPREDUCE-5403?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=13713889#comment-13713889 ]

Bikas Saha commented on MAPREDUCE-5403:
---------------------------------------

>From what I understand its meant for applications to setup up their classpath to include yarn/hdfs/common/etc jars. Since YARN is language agnostic, this tweak helps setup java applications. This is used by TEZ to setup the classpath correctly. We should probably fix MR to use this if it already not doing so.

> Project: Hadoop Map/Reduce
> Issue Type: Improvement

> yarn.application.classpath is a confusing property because it is used by MapReduce and not YARN, and MapReduce already has mapreduce.application.classpath, which provides the same functionality.
