[VOTE] Felix Graduation
The Felix community feels that we are ready for graduation, as indicated
by the following community vote to request graduation:
http://mail-archives.apache.org/mod_mbox/incubator-felix-dev/200612.mbox/%3c459170C8.9050006@ungoverned.org%3e
We would like to initiate a vote to graduate to a top level project. We
would like the resolution attached to this email to be presented to the
board for consideration at the next possible board meeting.
For additional information, the Felix status file is here:
http://incubator.apache.org/projects/felix.html
Thank you in advance for your time and consideration.

Every artifact that has been released has the appropriate license files
and notices. Other non-released subprojects generally have the
appropriate source headers, but may be missing other pieces. These will
be resolved as the subprojects proceed toward a release. The status of
each is maintained here:
http://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/FELIX/Subproject+Release+Status
We will continue to track each subproject's status here, but please let
us know if you notice any specific issues that we are missing.

That was part of the template we were told to use...if it is not
supposed to be included, then perhaps it should be deleted from the

Ahh. So the reply-to for the vote email was felix-dev, not general@.
I've resent my vote to general@.

I believe this community has worked hard within the incubator and from a
community standpoint is ready for graduation, and has been for some
time. A successful release has been made that demonstrates the
communities ability to follow ASF guidelines in that regard. There are
no outstanding unresolved issues that should block graduation.
Therefore, as a mentor for Felix, I vote +1 for graduation.

Posted by Alex Karasulu <ao...@bellsouth.net>.

The status file seems up to date. An acceptable release has occurred.
The community is healthy and active. The last report shows all
issues to be resolved.
The IP has been cleared. This might help others looking at IP related
concerns:
http://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/FELIX/Felix+R4+contributions
I'm not seeing any red lights.
However I'd like to see more eyes on this besides just the mentors. It
would give me more confidence to get a few responses instead of scraping
by with the minimum number of votes as Felix did for it's release.

Alex

Next steps (was: Re: [RESULT] Re: [VOTE] Felix Graduation)
Posted by Alex Karasulu <ak...@apache.org>.
1) remove the following from this template:
>> Special Order 6E, Establishing the Apache Felix Project, was
>> approved by Unanimous Vote.
2) Double check that all the PPMC folks are on the proposed PMC.
3) Send an email to the board@apache.org with the resolution asking them
to add it to their agenda for the next board meeting.
4) Wait for board meeting and minutes to determine if resolution passed.
5) If so we have a bunch of infrastructure details to hash out. And if
not we go back to the drawing board and/or wait for another board meeting.

Alex

Re: [VOTE] Felix Graduation
Posted by "Richard S. Hall" <he...@ungoverned.org>.
Apparently we had inadvertently left Upayavira off the PMC list, even
though we reviewed the board resolution twice...thanks to Niclas Hedhman
for catching this. I have attached the updated board resolution to this
message.
Please consider it when casting your vote.

We would like to thank everyone who voted and/or participated in any way.
We look forward to sending the resolution to the board, however, it

proceed with the next steps or, more precisely, what the next steps are.
Thanks again.

Re: [VOTE] Felix Graduation
Posted by Upayavira <uv...@odoko.co.uk>.
I believe this community has worked hard within the incubator and from a
community standpoint is ready for graduation, and has been for some
time. A successful release has been made that demonstrates the
communities ability to follow ASF guidelines in that regard. There are
no outstanding unresolved issues that should block graduation.
Therefore, as a mentor for Felix, I vote +1 for graduation (with the
board resolution including myself as a PMC member)
Regards, Upayavira

Note to felix-dev, the message below was cc'd from general@i.a.o...that
is where the vote will occur, not here, so if you want to see what is
going on, you should be watching the incubator mailing list...
