I received some information from a contact at BEA regarding a 2/24/02 release of EJB & Web Services related products:

"We [BEA] have some major announcements and technologies that we are releasing on 2/24 that will be able to do the full range of web services automatically: stateless, stateful, and persistent.  Synchronous and asynchronous.  Callbacks and non-callbacks.  Additionally, accessing any J2EE resources with 0 code through web services.  It'll be big stuff."

Maybe this will stimulate some creative "competition" for features :-)
