Re: mrunit incubator vote passed

+CC mrunit-dev

Glad to know progress is being made. I still don't see an MRUNIT project in
the Apache JIRA.

Hi Patrick,

Thanks, I don't have project creation karma but someone from infra@ would -- we just need to ask them (either on #asfinfra, or via email to infrastructure@apache.org, or by filing a JIRA to track the JIRA creation ;) ).

+1 to using the CMS, infra@ wants folks to move to it and they offer support on it so why not eat our own dog food.

I'd be happy to help with the board report when the time comes -- I already fill out 2 of them for Tika and for OODT :) and I usually end up doing so for my podlings too. ;)

Cheers,
Chris

Aaron, before you ping Joe or infra take a look at this:
http://www.apache.org/dev/committers.html#mailing-list-moderators
http://www.apache.org/dev/committers.html#mail-moderate

Also, as committers you should checkout this repo. Review the content
therein, esp the "doc" directory
https://svn.apache.org/repos/private/committers
In doc/resources.txt take a look at the section "Mailing List meta-info"

A "list mrunit" to query@ results in:
[*] list mrunit
Lists with list matching 'mrunit' (4):

In my experience running ZK this doesn't really come up too often,
typically a couple messages a week max, usually less.

You might want to get something like nabble or markmail setup
archiving mrunit lists, I've found them to be a great resource for ZK:
http://zookeeper.markmail.org/

Hey Aaron,

Thanks.

> 1) Am I the only one with list-fu? Or are there multiple of us who are list admins? (I don't mind doing this, but I want to know what happens to our list if I go on vacation)

Maybe? I haven't got the moderator stuff. However, I'm happy to pick up a shovel and help. Feel free to add me as a list mod. Or I can ask infra@ to do it.

> 2) Can we reconfigure the mail program to auto-reject posts to mrunit-dev from nonsubscribers, and inform them how to subscribe? If there is a mail admin interface on apache.org, I can't find the link by searching Google..

This might be possible. My magic solution in cases like this is to go to my single point of failure (aka awesome Apache SA guy) Joe Schaefer, let him read me the riot act for a few mins about bugging him about everything and then get the answer I need :) He lurks on #asfinfra on irc.freenode.net under the moniker joes4. Buyer beware ;) But he's an awesome guy with all the answers. He'll know who to ask/where to go.

Cheers,
Chris

Re: mrunit incubator vote passed

Posted by Aaron Kimball <ak...@gmail.com>.
@Chris: +1! Go Patrick!

Our of curiosity -- a couple of ya'll have posted from email addrs not
subscribed to mrunit-dev. This has sent me a moderation notice each time.
For those of you who triggered this I sent you an email notifying you that
you should subscribe that address to the list. so, questions:
1) Am I the only one with list-fu? Or are there multiple of us who are list
admins? (I don't mind doing this, but I want to know what happens to our
list if I go on vacation)
2) Can we reconfigure the mail program to auto-reject posts to mrunit-dev
from nonsubscribers, and inform them how to subscribe? If there is a mail
admin interface on apache.org, I can't find the link by searching Google..

Patrick you are the frickin' man. Way to step up on all of this. That's what being a champion is all about.

Cheers,
