[jira] Created: (WICKET-1018) Examples page really should mention that there are MORE examples available

Examples page really should mention that there are MORE examples available
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

                 Key: WICKET-1018
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/WICKET-1018
             Project: Wicket
          Issue Type: Improvement
          Components: site
            Reporter: Robert Schultz

The Wicket examples page here: http://wicket.apache.org/examples.html

It only lists about 7 examples.
There are a LOT more examples available, however nowhere on this page does it mention that there are MORE examples available.

There is a link on this page: 'You can see the examples in live action without having to install anything.'
The 'live action' text is linked to: http://www.wicketstuff.org/wicket13/

Which contains many more examples, however the wording of that sentence is SOOO BAD.
'the examples' makes it seem like it's the same ones shown below, so the link goes unclicked.

As a new user to wicket, this page really really needs to mention that there is MORE examples. The word 'MORE' is really critical.

Robert Schultz commented on WICKET-1018:
----------------------------------------

Just wanted to let you know that I'm not some crazy person that goes around to projects and nitpicks.

It's just that as a new user to Wicket, examples are really important.
Once I finally discovered the longer list of examples from someone on IRC I was so happy, yet at the same time very frustrated that I didn't see mention of it on the main Examples link on the website.

Examples are a crucial component to learning a new system and gaining adoption and users.
As such I felt it important enough to create a JIRA user, create a tick and voice my concern.

Gwyn Evans closed WICKET-1018.
------------------------------

    Resolution: Fixed

Thanks for raising it - there are times such as when that was written when we've unconciously assume more knowledge of the project/sources than we should, so we especially appreciate input/issues that identify concrete things we can do to help ease the early stages.
