[jira] Resolved: (XERCESJ-983) getContentDocument DOM 2 method not implemented in HTML classes

Michael Glavassevich resolved XERCESJ-983:
------------------------------------------

    Resolution: Won't Fix

Versions of the DOM Level 2 HTML interfaces which used the org.w3c.dom.html package were all from drafts of the specification. The interfaces are defined in org.w3c.dom.html2 in the DOM Level 2 HTML W3C Recommendation. See Neil's previous comment on how to compile the parser.

> DOM 2 added a getContentDocument() method to classes like HTMLFrameElement, HTMLObjectElement etc. The current implementation don't have these methods.
> As the 1.4 JVMs come with a xml.jar files with the updated API (on 1.4.2 level SDKs, at least one 1.4.1 did not have these methods either), compilation fails (unless you have access to XJavac.java sources and add one more SDK to the hack there -- and you must use jikes as well, it seems).
> These methods should be implemented so compilation with a normal javac from a 1.4.2 standard SDK can succeed (please mind that xml-commons-apis do not have them yet as well).
