Summary: missing Listen 443 should give error when using
NameVirtualHost *:443
Product: Apache httpd-2
Version: 2.0.55
Platform: Other
OS/Version: other
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P3
Component: mod_ssl
AssignedTo: bugs@httpd.apache.org
ReportedBy: jon@latchkey.com
I'm using Ubuntu 6.0.6. For some crazy reason they have a
/etc/apache2/ports.conf which doesn't have Listen 443 as default.
For the second time now (yes I'm an idiot), I have configured a virtual host to
listen on 443 and have forgotten to put a Listen 443 into the ports.conf file.
After banging my head against the wall for about an hour (two separate times
now), I finally realized that I was missing the Listen 443. So, it seems that it
would be nice if httpd could give me some sort of warning or error message if it
reads a NameVirtualHost *:443 in the configuration but doesn't have a Listen 443.
Thanks!
