Mostly because of your definition of "should" ;)

Just because your JavaScript is at the end of the page doesn't mean the
entire page (thus the DOM) will be rendered before your JavaScript executes,
and it may be browser-dependent.

As was pointed out you can put your JavaScript in a window.onload section;
IIRC this will wait until *everything* has loaded, including images etc.

However, putting such JavaScript in an "window.onload" handler *may*
interfere with Dojo's own onload handler, which may do DOM rewriting and so
on.

Instead try using Dojo's:

dojo.addOnLoad(aFunction)

where "aFunction" is either a function reference or an anonymous function.

See dojo.addOnLoad [1] and a short blog post [2] for some further
information.

Did you put such code inside page header's tags?

No apology needed, If you're helping someone out, then any language is good,
and since Alvaro's English isn't that great then it's the only way to go.

As for translation, it's probably only worth giving an overview of the
problem (e.g. Alvaro had a problem with X and Y), that way if anyone wants
to know they can post the question and you can translate everything if you
have the time. There's no point in translating something that may only be
relevant to Alvaros setup.

BUG in checkboxlist

Posted by Moacir Cardoso <mo...@yahoo.com.br>.
Hello, I'm getting some errors when using checkboxlist in situations
where the name attribute or listKey and listValue are null values.
The actual template doesn't tests for null values.

If you do not use the name parameter this error occurs: "Expression
parameters.name is undefine"
If the name are required then the tld does not reflect this need.
I think this is a bug.

spagnolo :-)

Ciao
Antonio

Translation in English
I write in Italian, since Italians and Spanish-speaking people
understand themselves :-)
This is an English-speaking mailing list, so it is preferable to write
in English. We don't care of grammar and ortography errors. If we
don't understand something, we simply ask to explain it better.
So try to write in English, or find a Spanish-speaking mailing list :-)

Asunto: Re: Actualizar Strust 1 a Strust 2

Para comenzar, necesitas como minimo 4 jars:

* struts-core-xxx.jar
* xwork-xxx.jar
* ognl-xxx.jar
* freemarker-xxx.jar

Si
lees ingles, los siguientes articulos me ayudaron mucho a comenzar a tener ambos
Struts en el mismo
proyecto:

http://www.infoq.com/articles/converting-struts-2-part1
http://www.infoq.com/articles/migrating-struts-2-part2
http://www.infoq.com/articles/migrating-struts-2-part3

Buena suerte!

RE: Actualizar Strust 1 a Strust 2

Posted by Alvaro Ernesto Gomez Cerna <ag...@ss.sertracen.com.sv>.

Tambien esta DWR y tambien he usado
Scriptaculous.

tengo.

Hey.

I have to convert an application written with Struts and Tiles 1 to 2.
Could anyone tell me what the Struts2 equivalents for some of the old
Struts1 tag libraries are?

I'm looking specifically for
http://struts.apache.org/tags-html and
http://struts.apache.org/tags-logic

Unfortunately, Google just brings me a lot of pages from Struts 1

Re: Struts 2 equivalents?

Posted by Randy Burgess <RB...@nuvox.com>.
Seems like it should be "home" instead of "home.jsp", assuming you have a
def for "home" in your tiles-defs.xml file. I'm assuming that the tiles
definitions file is still tiles-defs.xml.

One more specific replacement question. In the Struts 1 app, we had some
actions that had no class, but simply forwarded to largely static JSPs:
<action path="/home" forward="/home.jsp" />.

In my new struts.xml, I tried:
	<action name="home">

(I've changed my struts.properties to make the suffix .do instead of

following:

Any ideas? It may well be something besides my struts.xml, but I didn't
want to just copy my entire webapp to the e-mail, so I took a guess. If

Re: [OT] Re: Javascript problem

Posted by Laurie Harper <la...@holoweb.net>.
addOnLoad() should cause the function to be executed as soon as the DOM
is complete, which may be before the page has finished loading and
rendering. However, since the DOM will be fully constructed,
getElementById() should work properly at that point. I'd go with Dave's
advice and confirm that the element you're referencing really exists in
the DOM. And, if you really do have an element with an ID of 'name[0]',
I'd definitely try changing the ID to something that's legal, in case
that's what's confusing the browser.

apache.org has a little text link to the new version that make the
search think it's relevant to the second version. I feel like just
getting started is always the hardest part of these things, because you
don't even know where the documents are, and your questions are too
general for a meaningful query.

Thanks,
~Dan

Nevermind, I found the proper XML for the tiles-jsp jar. I'm curious as
to what exactly is in the plugin jar that you suggested, though. Is that
necessary to use Tiles 2 with Struts 2?

It *was* a bug and it is fixed in Struts 2.1.x

Re: Basic setup question (tiles 2)

Hi,

I've probably found the problem, struts-tiles-plugin doesn't depend
on tiles-jsp. You have to manually added it your pom.xml, like below:

        <dependency>
            <groupId>org.apache.tiles</groupId>
            <artifactId>tiles-jsp</artifactId>
            <version>2.0.4</version>
        </dependency>

when you using Struts 2.0.9 -> tiles version is 2.0.4. I think the pom
for struts-tiles-plugin should contain such dependency, it looks like
a bug (or maybe I'm wrong)?

Basic setup question (tiles 2)

Posted by "Allen, Daniel" <Da...@kbcfp.com>.
Hi.

I'm completely new at Struts and Tiles, but was given the task of
converting an app that relied on the first versions of those to the the
newer version.

We build with Maven 2, and as instructed by the documentation at
http://tiles.apache.org/dev/snapshots.html, I added

		<dependency>
			<groupId>org.apache.struts.tiles</groupId>
			<artifactId>tiles-core</artifactId>
			<version>2.0-SNAPSHOT</version>
		</dependency>

To my pom.xml file. This downloaded tiles-api.jar and tiles-core.jar.
However, at http://tiles.apache.org/migration/index.html, it says that
there are three jars needed (tiles-jsp.jar being the third). When I try
to access a site, I get an exception that
"http://tiles.apache.org/tags-tiles" was not found, and it seems likely
that the missing JSP jar is the cause. Can anyone tell me where I can
find that jar, and what I need to give Maven as a <dependency>? I tried
copying the above and replacing the artifact ID with "tiles-jar" but
that gave me an error saying that the artifact was not found in the
repositor (which is set as per the snapshots link above).

Does anyone know what the dependency for tiles-jsp.jar is?

Thanks,
~Dan Allen

If I use a hidden iframe to do the same, it works.

I didn´t put the script tag in the <head>. I don´t understand why I
should do it... I´m using Tiles and my header is reused in several
pages, and this script is only valid for few ones.

Thanks.

Are you saying there's still a problem? AFAICT there are no issues with
dojo.addOnLoad. When you look at the DOM w/ Firebug does the ID match what
you expect? Is it legal to give an element an ID with brackets in it?

It is the same as:

<script type="text/javascript">

It is executed before the page loads.
