[jira] [Updated] (FOP-2358) Soft hyphen is not retained on copy/paste

Mark Craig updated FOP-2358:
----------------------------

    Attachment: render-shy.pdf
                render-shy.fo

Simple example attached (render-shy.fo) with PDF produced using FOP 1.1 (render-shy.pdf).

I replaced the soft hyphen characters in the source of the example with an entity to make the source of the example easier to read. (But it works the same way if you use the example directly from Wikipedia.)

> Soft hyphen is rendered as hyphen + space.
> As a result, when the text that originally contained a soft hyphen is copied and pasted to an editor capable of ignoring soft hyphens or recalculating the hyphenation, the "hard" hyphen remains.
> This is particularly unhelpful in hyphenated literals such as URLs or OIDs, where adding a hyphen + space means that the copy is broken.
