   I think it's not redundant. Correct me if i'm wrong, but we only inherit the lib from the parent, how it implement it is a thing of each module. The idea of this [PR](https://github.com/apache/commons-fileupload/pull/92) it's set the `checkstyle` validation as part of the build of the `commons-fileupload`
