Personalized mode and git versioning

I am having trouble using git versioning with the personalized mode.  Does
the personal mode work?  I tried it in 0.7.3.  I can't find documentation
about it.  I am expecting it to run a personalized non-collaborative
notebook, however it seems to behave strangely when using a committed
version of the notebook.  The user can't make run paragraphs.
