Make sure you have "soap.jar" in you classpath when you're in the command
prompt and type in that command. I believe that's it. This happened to me
and I realized that just because tomcat knew where soap.jar was it wasn't
necessarily in the %CLASSPATH%.

hope that helps..

Subject: Cannot deploy service

I have soap 2.1 running with tomcat 3.2.1 on two Win2K machines that are
pretty much identical; they have the same tomcat.bat and server.xml, etc.

On one machine everything works just fine, I can run all the samples with no
problem. I have worked thru all the issues on the classpaths.
(By the way: the oft sited IBM developer works article at
http://www-106.ibm.com/developerworks/library/ws-peer2/ was a great help but
it didn't mention the requirement for mail.jar and activation.jar.)

On the other machine when I deploy the address book with the following
command (I have TcpTunnelGui running on port 8070):
java org.apache.soap.server.ServiceManagerClient
http://localhost:8070/soap/servlet/rpcrouter deploy DeploymentDescriptor.xml

I get the following exception:
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoSuchMethodError
        at
org.apache.soap.server.DeploymentDescriptor.fromXML(DeploymentDescriptor.jav
a:415)
        at
org.apache.soap.server.ServiceManagerClient.main(ServiceManagerClient.java:2
28)

Any help here would be appreciated. Due to requirements I cannot download
the source for soap at this time.

TIA,
