Hello,

I have the same issue on 1.3.9.

Is it resolved in newer versions?
IMO, the priority should be increased.

> I have a module that publishes an artifact of type tar, but when I browse to it in Archiva, the tar file is not available for download
> For a given artifact:
> <groupId>rhinestone</groupId>
> <artifactId>rhinestone-package</artifactId>
> <packaging>tar</packaging>
> <version>1.0</version>
> In the directory there does exist a file of compatible layout, rhinestone-package-1.0.tar
