"Configure" will not run in quiet mode

Summary: "Configure" will not run in quiet mode
           Product: Apache httpd-2.0
           Version: 2.0.50
          Platform: Other
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: Normal
          Priority: Other
         Component: Build
        AssignedTo: bugs@httpd.apache.org
        ReportedBy: christian.bonilla@hp.com

I've just installed Apache 2.0.50 on an HP ZX6000 running Red Hat AS
3.0 for IA-64.I've found that "configure --quiet" will not work. In other
words, the "checking..." messages are always displayed regardless if I include
this switch or not. This has been verified by Joe Orton from RedHat
(jorton@redhat.com):

"Yup, it's a problem in how the recursive configure invocation is written in
APR. Can you file a bug on this?"
