Apache Flex SDK Installer vs Adobe Air 20 (Beta)

* Fresh OS-X El Capitan install

* Adobe Air 20 Beta

  * installed for dev work

  * to allow older Adobe CS6 install to work (the installer has a version that hangs on El Cap)


Needed to installed/update Apache Flex 14 w/Air from a file copied version, so downloaded SDK installer but no joy during install as it does not recognize Adobe Air 20 as a valid runtime version:


"This application requires a version of Adobe AIR which cannot be found. Please download the latest version of the runtime from ...."


Work around:

  1.  Uninstall Adobe Air 20 (beta) first as Air 19 will see a 'newer' installed version
  2.  Install Adobe Air 19
  3.  Install Apache Flex SDK Installer
  4.  Download the SDK via the Apache Flex SDK installed
  5.  Re-install Adobe Air 20 (beta) and it will replace Air 19

Work around:

  1.  Uninstall Adobe Air 20 (beta)
  2.  Install Adobe Air 19
  3.  Install Apache Flex SDK Installer
  4.  Download the SDK via the Apache Flex SDK installer
  5.  Uninstall Adobe Air 19
  6.  Re-install Adobe Air 20 (beta)
