[jira] [Created] (ARROW-13015) [C++] Create benchmark for file iteration

Weston Pace created ARROW-13015:
-----------------------------------

             Summary: [C++] Create benchmark for file iteration
                 Key: ARROW-13015
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/ARROW-13015
             Project: Apache Arrow
          Issue Type: Improvement
          Components: C++
            Reporter: Weston Pace

There's plenty of subtlety involved in a task as simple as iterating through a file.  For example, there are Linux calls fadvise / readahead.  Buffered iteration vs regular iteration.  Block size.  Hot/cold cache.  We could use a benchmark to help explore the effect of some of these options.
