Do we have a concrete example for this use case? 

This seems to me involving two issues here.The first is to adopt actor model. The second is to do computation asynchronously in bsp task. The former has fundamental change for the current structure, the latter can be done by putting messages to peer bsp tasks' queue which can be seen in HadoopMessageManagerImpl.put().
