Tooltips
Hi,
Just curious. Is there anyway to create a mouse-over tool-tip over some
text in a pdf using xsl-fo with fop.

Thanks for the help. I had a change tag in my xml with a reason for
change (rfp) attribute and I thought it would be nice to have the reason
for change appear as a tooltip in the pdf. No biggie.

FWIW: the references I did find in that direction all point to 'hacks'
that create form fields or buttons for the related portions of text (or
images), and then use the 'Short Description' attribute to contain the
text that's supposed to appear in the tooltip.

There's nothing in XSL-FO that would allow to specify this. The first
step would be to identify if this is possible in PDF in the first place.
I've never stumbled over something like that but maybe someone else has.
If it can be made to work in PDF, you can think about implementing a FOP
extension.
