Subject: Single UNIX documentation - Common Access

As you have registered as a reader of The Single UNIX Specification on the
Web, you may be interested in our new Common Access service.

This service allows you to

   * search for and see the specially written UNIX man pages that are
common to all UNIX 95 and UNIX 98 systems

   * see and compare this Common UNIX Documentation with the formal
     UNIX Specifications

   * link to vendors' documentation

   * enter annotations and comments that will engender feedback and
     improvements.

When fully developed, the service will also enable you to see added-value
materials and extensions, as well as providing links to a wider range of
vendors' pages. It will enable you to compare, directly and easily,
proprietary versions of the UNIX Operating System with the standard UNIX 95
and UNIX 98 definitions.

Like Web access to the Single UNIX Specification, this service is entirely
free of charge to readers. You can find it at
http://www.opengroup.org/common_access Take a look!

At this early stage of the service, we particularly want your feedback. You
can comment using the service itself, or by e-mail to
common_access@opengroup.org.

Regards,

Chris
