I am experiencing the same problem with JRE 7 (update 7) intalled on AOo 3.4.1
on a Windows XP (32-bit).
And it's linked to JRE 7 as it works perfectly well with JRE 6 (update 35) !

Thanks for the link to the forum, but I couldn't figure if the problem was the
same or not...

Please give us more information. Your win7 64 bit version? 
In this case use 32 bit version of java.
