Thanks,

Say, I think Gabe has a minor typo there, I believe the path is
"jakarta-velocity-tools/struts/example/velstruts.war" and of course the
context path of the app would then be /velstruts.

Hope that helps avoid some confusion :-)

Cheers,
Tim

Michael,
we have done a VelocityStruts package that allows you to easily use Velocity
with Struts. It is pre-release code and documentation is not yet complete.
But, using the included examples, you should be able to get up to speed
quickly.

1.) Get the the latest nightly snapshot of the jakarta-velocity-tools
package at http://jakarta.apache.org/builds/jakarta-velocity/nightly/

2.) Look at the included README for instructions to build the package.
Basically, all you have to do is type 'ant'. Among many things this
will create an VelocityStruts example application in directory
jakarta-velocity-tools/struts/example/struts.war

3. Take the file struts.war and copy it to the webapps directory of
your Tomcat (or other compatible servlet runner). Restart the servlet
runner and point your browser at http://localhost:port/struts/
You will find several small example apps that showcase the use of Struts
with Velocity. In particular, we have implemented several view tools
that allow you to access Struts resources like message resources,
mappings, etc.

4. The directory jakarta-velocity-tools/struts/docs contains the
currently available documentation. The user guide is incomplete at
the moment, but the reference documentation for the view tools is
pretty good.

Also, I keep a current version of the documentation and examples online
here:
VelocityStruts Docs: http://www.teamup.com/jakarta-velocity-tools/struts/docs/
VelocityStruts Examples: http://www.teamup.com:8080/velstrutsdemo/

Let us know how it is going.

Gabe
