Problems with OpenSSL and mod_perl

I am trying to build

OpenSSL 0.9.4
mod_ssl-2.4.10
mod_perl 1.21
apache 1.3.9

I am on a Sparc running Solaris 2.5.1

I get through the process till I try and build mod_perl using

perl Makefile.PL USE_APACI=1 \
EVERYTHING=1 \
DO_HTTPD=1 \
SSL_BASE=/path_to/openssl-0.9.4 \
APACHE_PREFIX=/path_to/apache \
APACHE_SRC=/path_to/apache_1.3.9 \
APACI_ARGS=--enable-modlue=ssl,--enable-module=rewrite

The make cooks along until I get:

-o httpd buildmark.o modules.o  modules/ssl/libssl.a
modules/perl/libperl.a  modules/standard/libstandard.a  main/libmain.a
./os/unix/libos.a  ap/libap.a  lib/expat-lite/libexpat.a  -lsocket -lnsl
-lssl -lcrypto    -L/usr/local/lib
/sevana1/lib/perl5/5.00503/sun4-solaris/auto/DynaLoader/DynaLoader.a
-L/sevana1/lib/perl5/5.00503/sun4-solaris/CORE -lperl -lsocket -lnsl -ldl
-lm -lc -lcrypt
Undefined                       first referenced
 symbol                             in file
 __umoddi3
/debed3/src/openssl-0.9.4/libcrypto.a(bn_word.o)
 __udivdi3
/debed3/src/openssl-0.9.4/libcrypto.a(bn_div.o)
 ld: fatal: Symbol referencing errors. No output written to httpd
 *** Error code 1

Any suggestions would be appreciated

can you build without mod_perl? if so, look at the link line when it's
building (-lm -lc etc), are there any -llibraries that don't appear in the
link line above?
