My preference is 2); In the meantime I'll start a Camel 1.3.0 release
ASAP - am sure we'll have reason to release another ServiceMix release
soonish...

It seems like a bug in camel which has been fixed (by chance ?) a few weeks
ago
in this commit
http://svn.apache.org/viewvc?diff_format=h&view=rev&revision=591400.
However camel-1.3.0 has not been released, and we now have a few solutions:
  1) remove the camel sample
  2) let it in this state (maybe add something in the README.txt about using
a more recent
version of the camel-se instead with a 1.3.0-SNAPSHOT version of
camel inside ?)
  3) wait for a camel release.

Imho, we should go for 2. Thoughts ?

On second thought, if I run the same Camel route outside ServiceMix, in
a simple Java application, it does produce the expected output
(Exchange[Message: Hello World!]).

Are you using maven 2.0.6 ? I'm using 2.0.7 and I can't see it in the
distribution.
I'm thinking the reason is that the spring-aop jar is not a dependency in
the distribution,
so that it may not work depending on the way transitive deps are resolved.
But this can easily be fixed by adding this dependency.

L.S.,

+1 on releasing 3.2.1, thanks for adding the missing parts to the
distribution
I agree we'd better get this one out as soon as possible and do another
release after Camel 1.3.0 is out

Re: [VOTE] Release ServiceMix 3.2.1

I've fixed the spring-aop issue and uploaded a new distribution at the same
location.
I think we will be able to release a new minor version once camel 1.3.0 is
out.

Guillaume,

The spring-aop JAR file is missing from the lib/ folder in the binary
distributions. If I take a source distribution however and rebuild
ServiceMix from there, the JAR file is included. Perhaps you can just
rebuild the binary distributions from the source archives and release
those binaries instead.

Another thing: when I deploy the Camel example, I was expecting to see
the message 'Hello world!' appear in the logging, but it just says
Exchange[null]. I suppose this is more related to Camel than it is to
ServiceMix though, because the Route that is being deployed doesn't
really integrated with the JBI container or use any of the JBI specific
classes.

This won't cause any problems because these jars are already in the
classpath from the container.

Okay I added a JIRA, hopefully I did it correctly.

I'm not sure I understand however. Are you saying jars are now being
duplicated into multiple components? This could cause classloading
problems at runtime? Or are these somehow "extra" jars which are not
really dependencies?

Thanks,

- Jason

Re: [VOTE] Release ServiceMix 3.2.1

Posted by Guillaume Nodet <gn...@gmail.com>.
I see two reasons:
  * the first one is that we have new components (which are quite big
because they embed CXF)
  * the second one is that some transitive dependencies are now included in
all the components (xerces, xml-apis and stax)
The first one is expected, but not the second one.
Could you raise a JIRA ? I think we should fix it for the 3.2.3 release
along with the camel stuff.

Just curious ... 3.1.2 download was about 38Mb, the 3.2.1 download is
80Mb? Why the big jump in size?

No, not at all. It's just that people rarely use 0, at least for release
votes. I usually see it on a possibly controversial problem (like voting
someone as a commiter, or making some big decision).
