Getting IP Address to access CouchDB 2.0 Running on Debian 8.6 on Virtualbox on my PC

Hi.
I am trying to access my running CouchDB 2.0 installation running on Debian
8.6 which is running on Virtualbox.
I have searched but not found the correct way to get the correct ip address.

I would imagine it would be similar to the 'docker-machine ls' command but
a more generic and basic one.

Could somebody point me in the right direction please.

Is it as easy as Docker or does it involve some Virtualbox network
settings. Hopefully not.

Many thanks.

Hi John,

Jan is right. However there is a part of the solution that is related to CouchDB :

don’t forget to setup your CouchDB service so that it listens to connections coming from outside (i.e. outside your virtual server).

http://docs.couchdb.org/en/2.0.0/config/http.html#httpd/bind_address

That’s a VirtualBox, not a CouchDB question, I’m afraid. Sorry! :)

Thank you Jan.
What I mean is if I replicate from the host machine's CouchDB to the
Couchdb running on Debian on Virtualbox, how do I get the target's ip
address?

The default will be 127.0.0.1 inside the virtualbox host.
