Newbie JavaBean question

I'm trying to get a sample java bean working in a jsp.
I'm running Tomcat 4/Java Web Service Developer Pack, on Linux and my
directory looks like this:
JWSDP_HOME
   webapps
      ROOT
         mySite
            JDBCBean.jsp
            Manifest.txt
            Beans
               JDBCBean.java
First I compiled the bean...
   javac JDBCBean.java
with the package statement:
   package Beans;
then created Manifest.txt and jarred it:
   jar cfm JDBCBean.jar Manifest.txt Beans/*
then I tried to run JDBCBean.jsp, which refers to it, and got an error ( HTTP
Status 500 ), class not found. I think the problem is that I have to put it
in the classpath, but I don't know how to do this...
  Thanks for any help.
      Dan
