Does the $TOMCAT_HOME/docs/appdev/sample works??

Hi,

I´m trying to compile the sample webapp that comes with TOMCAT 3.1 (it's located at $TOMCAT_HOME/docs/appdev/sample).

When I type ./build, i get this error:
 
Couldn't find or load essential class `java/lang/Object' java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError java/lang/Object



It seems that there is a problem with sant.

Any idea??
